Meet The Folks Who Bring the Magic to Life
Our high caliber performers, educators, technicians, innovators, and organizers hail from throughout the Pacific Northwest, across the US, and around the world. A multigenerational group, our touring community has included individuals as young as 8 months, and as old as 92.
From jugglers and magicians, aerialists, humorists, and hula-hoopists, to a 30-piece band showcasing musicians able to harness a diverse range of music, the New Old Time Chautauqua’s shows are brought to life by a vibrant group of performers. Our workshops are led by these performers, and by high-level educators in the arts, history, and ecology, and our programming is made possible by an incredible group of planners and technical artists who harness the huge responsibility of booking and facilitating a multifaceted tour.
In addition to highlighting and sharing talent and creativity, Chautauqua is about family. Our group of 60-70 touring members lives collaboratively while on the road, sharing daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, truck loading, and show set up, and our teamwork, multigenerational membership, and positive interaction with each other is intended as a demonstration of what a thriving community can be.
